how to be content while waiting

As I prepare to enter my college years in just a short six weeks , I am reminded how I am whole with the sweet love of Jesus Christ. Sometimes I keep forgetting to give Him the pen to my life and fail to remind myself that He is writing a beautiful script for it.

This past month I have been reminded of the ways I deserve (and don't deserve) to be treated and what happens when I am put in control of my own dating life. I can feel God looking down on me and saying, "Oh, sweet daughter. If you put your trust in Me and Me alone, I will give you the sweetest love you could ever imagine. Just be patient and focus on Me". I know one day I will find that one and wonder why I settled for anything less, but the waiting game is what takes it's toll on me. I can't wait for the next stage of my life where I don't have to worry about taking showers home alone (it's a serious fear of mine-haha), having someone to come home to and kiss good morning and good night, having alone time through devotion with him, and being told "I love you" every single day and meaning it, too. BUT, the time of singleness is one of the most important parts of life before you settle down. Like, you learn to love YOURSELF and what YOU want! How can a guy love you if you aren't content with yourself first?

God is preparing you for your future with someone, but He won't let it happen until He is ready along with the two of you! God gives us this dry patch for a reason and wants to give us something better, but we must pray to be content and to get through the desert. We never know where he hiding and ready to pop out with something greater than we have ever imagined. We see a rocky area in our lives and never imagine that it is hiding a fountain. God leads us into hard and difficult places, and it is there we realize we are where eternal streams abide.

So ladies, don't settle! Wait for someone like the boys in One Tree Hill hahaha. Wait for the one that God handpicked for you! He's out there and will come soon enough, I promise :) And if all else fails, you can swoon over the One Tree Hill guys with me until he makes his way into your life! ;)
